Caprock Canyons State Park

In the beginning of May 2018, my mother and I visited Caprock Canyons State Park outside of Quitaque, Texas, about 100 southeast of Amarillo. Caprock encompasses over 15,000 acres, an abandoned train tunnel that is home to half a million Mexican free-tailed bats, the Texas State Bison Herd, and over 90 miles of trails.

Miami Beach Botanical Garden

A few blocks from the white beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, the Miami Beach Botanical Garden is a wonderful little tropical jewel in the middle of the bustling resort city. While not housing the most extensive collection of equatorial flora, it is definitely worth paying a visit, especially if you're relatively unfamiliar with the local plant palette.
